Robert L. Richmond is founder of the firm, which was established in 1975. Mr. Richmond has
practiced law since 1970, concentrating predominantly on defense of admiralty, aviation,
and personal injury cases.
Mr. Richmond received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1965 and
his law degree from the University of Oregon in 1970. Between college and law school,
he served in the United States Army as a captain in military intelligence. He has also
worked as a commercial fisherman in Kodiak, Alaska.
Currently, Mr. Richmond is president of Defense Counsel of Alaska; serves on the
Civil Rules Advisory Committee to the Alaska Supreme Court; and is a Proctor member of
the Maritime Law Association serving as vice-chairman of the Fisheries Committee of that body.
He is a member of the American and Alaskan Bar Associations. He is also a member of the American
Board of Trial Advocates.
