William A. Earnhart joined the firm in 2006. Mr. Earnhart is a lifelong Alaskan and graduated from Willamette University in 1990 and the University of Washington School of Law in 1994. Prior to finishing law school, he lived and worked in Japan and worked summers in the construction industry.
Mr. Earnhart has a general trial, administrative and appellate practice throughout the State of Alaska, including complex commercial disputes, employment, products and premises liability. He is licensed to practice in Alaska, Washington, Oregon and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Earnhart has received favorable jury verdicts in the First, Third and Fourth Judicial Districts of the state as well as the Federal District Court of Alaska. Representative cases are:
Travelers Ins. Co. v. Petersen Sullivan P.C., et al., U.S. District Court, Case No. A04-0165 CV (RRB)(2004). Dismissal of nine million dollar D&O claim.
Sliter v. SSRAA, Alaska Superior Court, Case No. 1KE-02-0423 (2003). Defense verdict on disability discrimination and wrongful termination claims.
Lower v. Wal-Mart, U.S. District Court, Case No. A01-0057 CV (HRH)(2002). Defense verdict on closed-head injury claim.
Johnson v. Sam's Club, et al., Alaska Superior Court, Case No. 4FA-99-1907 CI (2002). Defense of quadriplegic personal injury claim.
Maijar v. Wal-Mart, U.S. District Court, Case No. A98-0102 CV (JDR)(2000). Defense verdict on hostile/environment/-national origin discrimination claims.
